Árstíðir - Vetrarsól

This is a collection of sheet music from the songs from indie-folk band Árstíðir's a cappella album, Vetrarsól.

Árstíðir gained international recognition in 2013 when a video of their spontaneous performance of Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson's "Heyr himna smiður" went viral. Recorded in a German train station, this rendition struck a chord with audiences worldwide.

Since then, the members of Árstíðir have gathered various a cappella songs to hone their vocal skills, occasionally incorporating them into their live performances. Eventually, the band decided to record some of their favorite pieces they’ve sung over the years.

"Vetrarsól - Voices of the Winter Sun" is the result of this effort—a thoughtfully curated collection of traditional Icelandic vocal and choral songs that showcases the rich cultural heritage of their homeland.
