Thomas James Godfrey

Thomas James Godfrey, sonur Paul Russell Godfrey (1914-2017) og Mary Elizabeth Thompson (1918-1998), fæddist 4. júní 1947 í Alexandríu í Louisiana í Bandaríkjunum og endurfæddist fyrir trú á Jesú Krist (Jóhannes 3:1-18) í nóvember 1956. Hann var nemandi við Louisiana College þar sem hann útskrifaðist með B.A. og B.S. gráður árið 1969; við The University of Texas at Austin þar sem hann útskrifaðist með doktorsgráðu í málvísindum árið 1981; og við Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) þar sem hann útskrifaðist með M.S. gráðu í tölvunarfræði árið 1993. Hann þjónaði einnig í bandaríska hernum og var leystur frá störfum með heiðri í lok árs 1971. Hann giftist Beth Richards 14. júní 1975. Þau eignuðust fjögur börn (Rachel, Paul, Charis og David) og þjónuðu hjá Wycliffe Bible Translators í Gvatemala frá desember 1982 til mars 1988. Thomas James Godfrey, a son of Paul Russell Godfrey (1914-2017) and Mary Elizabeth Thompson (1918-1998), was born on June 4, 1947, in Alexandria, Louisiana, USA, and born again through faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:1-18) November 1956.  He was a student at Louisiana College, where he graduated with B.A. and B.S. degrees in 1969; at The University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with a Ph.D. in linguistics in 1981; and at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) , where he graduated with an M.S. degree in computer science in 1993.  He also served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged at the end of 1971.  He married Beth Richards on June 14, 1975.  They became the parents of four children (Rachel, Paul, Charis, and David) and served with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Guatemala from December 1982 through March 1988.  Thomas retired June 30, 2017, after 25 years of employment as a software engineer.
