Guðrún Böðvarsdóttir

b. 1902 , d. 1936

Guðrún Böðvarsdóttir (Dúna Böðvars) was the daughter of Reverend Böðvar Bjarnason, pastor at Hrafnseyri in Arnarfjörður, and his first wife Ragnhildur Teitsdóttir from Ísafjörður. When her parents divorced, Guðrún moved with her mother to Reykjavík. She had two brothers, Ágúst Böðvarsson and Bjarni Böðvarsson. The whole family was highly musical, with Bjarni (known as Bjarni Bö) becoming the best known of the siblings. Mother and daughter were very close. Guðrún contracted tuberculosis, and during the periods when she was not staying at Vífilsstaðaspítali, she lived with her mother. She died there at just over thirty years of age.
