Jón Hlöðver Áskelsson

Jón Hlöðver Áskelsson studied music at Tónlistarskólinn á Akureyri and Tónlistarskólinn í Reykjavík. He continued his studies in Salzburg and at the Hochschule für Musik Hannover. He worked as a teacher and later as principal at the Tónlistarskólinn á Akureyri until 1991. In recent years he has increasingly devoted himself to composition. Among his works are chamber pieces, songs, and music for the theatre.
