Magnús Skjöld

Magnus Skjöld is an Icelandic composer based in Reykjavík. He holds a Master of Music degree in Composition from the Iceland University of the Arts, where he studied under the supervision of composer Dr. Einar Torfi Einarsson. His studies focused on contemporary composition, orchestration, and vocal writing.
Drawing on a diverse artistic background that includes classical singing and work across a range of musical genres, Magnus explores the intersection of melody, atmosphere, and narrative in his compositions. His works have been performed in Iceland, and his artistic interests range from chamber and vocal music to interdisciplinary projects and contemporary musical expression in its broadest sense.
His master's graduation concert, featuring chamber orchestra and choir, was performed at Harpa Concert Hall in 2022.
